Bury Manchester, BL9 8RR Working hours:

40 hours Role overview:

As part of the Digital Merchandising team, this role is pivotal in ensuring that our product offerings are optimally positioned to meet customer demands and market trends. This position involves a dynamic blend of trend analysis, product placement, and stock management, as well as troubleshooting platform issues, and maintaining accurate stock levels. Collaborating closely with the trading manager, the merchandiser will contribute to forecasts and trend analyses, influence the strategic merchandising decisions that drive our business forward and review sales data daily to make informed commercial decisions that effectively manage both sales and inventory. Responsibilities: Planning: Overseeing hard launches effectively by getting products prepared in time, analysing STR% performance. This does include weekend launches (time given back). Co-ordinating and ensuring that new products are online as quickly and efficiently as possible. Using product trackers, intake calendars and KPI reporting to analyse time to site performance. Annotating key information for future reference such as key product, issues, and events. Trading: Monitoring reserved stock daily by SKU level and conducting full weekly reviews to manage stock holding. Reviewing low cover lines in the warehouse to be transferred from slow/none selling stores to maintain sell through rate for the company, as well as monitoring transfer processing rates - liaising with core merchandising, warehouse, and retail teams to improve this. Monitoring key replenishment to support trade and ensuring teams are aware of updates prior and post on site. Reviewing stock levels across other businesses and stores to service the websites. Analysing daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports to highlight good and deficient performance, as well as comparing online to store performance to close the gap within the business. Merchandising the site using Fredhopper algorithms and manual blocking modifications for key products. Conducting site walks throughout the day to raise any potential issues – broken links, incorrect product descriptions, placement, imagery and general housekeeping. Attributing the site to improve the customer journey and marketing pushes. Working closely with core merchandising, buyers, and marketing to sign off all products for marketing activity, to get the best out of the stock and ranges that are getting back as a business. Collaborating with the wider digital marketing teams (PPC, SEO, Affiliates, ECRM) to ensure that all product-related activity from keywords, ranking and links are appropriate. Development of the merchandising team. Point of contact for new technology that is brought in to improve the site and general launch maintenance. Role objectives and KPI’s: Maintaining stock files in a good place. Implementing and applying good practice. Training, developing and motivating the team. Building strong relationships with the B&M team. Identifying opportunities. Identifying threats (current issues) and looking to resolve them. Skills and Experience: Analytical thinker with the ability to spot potential issues and provide effective solutions for review before escalation. Good understanding of Excel and PowerPoint. SQL knowledge would be beneficial but not essential. Effective management and leadership experience. Effective communication skills and problem-solving capabilities. Highly organised with good prioritisation and time management skills. Experience within a sports/fashion retailer is advantageous.
