Role Purpose

CBRE Project Management and Building Consultancy, leading global provider of real estate project services, are recruiting a Director to support and work with the head of Engineering Consultancy in the day to day management of the local team ensuring resources are managed and coordinated and that projects are delivered in accordance with CBRE technical and corporate standards.

The role will support the next stage of growth in the service line and ideally suited to someone with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to expand their own career in tandem with the growth of the business.

With a focus on Commercial and Residential markets, the successful candidate will manage and coordinate a team of 10 Engineers which currently delivers a range of M&E Design and Asset Engineering projects including: Design of Commercial installations and fit outs to RIBA Stage 4, Technical Due Diligence, Dilapidations, M&E Audits, Condition Surveys, PPM/Life Cycle Costing to a wide range of clients and sectors.

The candidate will report to the Head of Engineering Consultancy Scotland.

The role affords the opportunity to meet clients and develop business for the firm. This includes liaison with wider CBRE colleagues working in other departments to leverage and collaborate on market opportunities. With such a breadth and depth of wider real estate service lines, it enables us to expand the client service offering - adding more value to our clients, increasing our business and growing our people through the enhanced learning opportunities this approach creates.

Key Responsibilities

Provide management, governance and delivery excellence to Engineering Consultancy team.

Capable Director level Engineer with the ability to deliver project work from inception to completion with the minimum of supervision to meet the project objectives and in accordance with company policies across a range of sectors.

Operate within the local market including networking and marketing to build the profile of the team. Identify and win new business.

Delivery of the identified pipeline to achieve team targets.

Liaise with colleagues to determine and identify project opportunities.

Supporting cross selling function across the CBRE business.

Liaise with CBRE Engineering Consultancy teams within UK and EMEA on wider projects/initiatives.

Contribute to the development and growth of other team members.

Promote and ensure the safe delivery of projects through the management of risk and competence.

Recruit and retain talent for the present delivery and future growth of Engineering Consultancy business.

Person Specification

Minimum 10 years building services design experience in a consultancy environment.

Previous design and surveying experience.

Ideally will hold a relevant Building Services Engineering degree or equivalent, Chartered status desirable.

Able to work collaboratively across other disciplines.

Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.

Highly developed communicator with the ability to make a good first impression.

Resilient, adaptable and above all, keen and enthusiastic with a hunger to learn and diversify.

A team player.

Confident to meet, network and socialise with potential and existing clients.

Able to prove eligibility to work in the UK.
