As a Director in Epidemiology, you will provide scientific leadership in the application of epidemiological expertise and methods to answer key challenges identified across all phases of drug development for an asset or disease area, delivering new drugs more efficiently and effectively to patients. This position functions within the Epidemiology Department, which contributes to the successful development of new drugs. Our staff in Epidemiology provide leadership and expertise to develop and execute the Epidemiology strategy across the entire spectrum of drug development, from early discovery to registration and lifecycle management. Key Responsibilities

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include: Developing a network to ensure alignment of an epidemiology program with the broader asset/disease strategy. Identifying new vendors, tools, and data sources to deliver epidemiology solutions. Contributing to strategic initiatives on the role of Epidemiology at the departmental level. Representing GSK on scientific discussions with internal governance bodies and external regulators. Accountable for the program of epidemiology for an asset or disease area. Bringing RWE insights to inform asset/disease area strategy. Proposing and negotiating content of the epidemiologic program and budget. Providing expert epidemiological consultation to asset matrix teams. Leading complex epidemiological studies and negotiating new partnerships. Contributing to advancing the science through external initiatives. Planning resource allocation to accomplish multiple research projects. Identifying innovative methods to conduct epidemiologic studies. Communicating study findings to relevant audiences effectively. Inputting into regulatory submission documents and representing the function to regulatory agencies. Presenting the company position on epidemiology issues to regulatory agencies. Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills: Doctoral degree (PhD., ScD or DrPH) in epidemiology or a relevant discipline. 5+ years of experience in Epidemiology in a pharmaceutical company. Experience operating in a matrix environment with independent delivery of complex epidemiological studies. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Demonstrated epidemiological expertise and ability to influence stakeholders. Highly proficient written, verbal, and listening skills. Experience in Oncology. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Expertise in complex research techniques and methodologies. Problem-solving skills and ability to apply epidemiological principles. Ability to work well within a global and matrix environment. Ability to relay complex information to cross-functional teams. Excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical industry environment. Committed to delivering high-quality results.
