As the Central Fleet Operations Lead, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the operations of our fleet at a central level. This includes overseeing all aspects of fleet maintenance, availability, efficiency, and safety. You will be instrumental in driving fleet performance, ensuring high standards are met across all locations, and implementing best practices to maximize operational effectiveness and cost-efficiency. This role requires a leader with strong operational expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to drive large-scale initiatives that positively impact our fleet operations. Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations Management

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the central fleet, ensuring optimal fleet availability, utilization, and safety across all regions. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain high performance and consistency in fleet management. Manage the allocation and movement of vehicles across locations to meet demand efficiently, maintaining balance between operational needs and cost control.

Maintenance & Safety Standards

Lead preventive maintenance strategies to ensure the fleet’s reliability and reduce downtime, working closely with the maintenance and technical teams. Set and enforce safety standards for fleet operations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Oversee vehicle inspection programs and ensure that all vehicles in the fleet meet regulatory and safety requirements. Identify opportunities for cost savings in fleet management, including fuel optimization, route planning, and maintenance scheduling. Analyze fleet performance metrics, costs, and utilization rates, leveraging data to make informed decisions and adjustments to improve efficiency. Develop and monitor the fleet operations budget, ensuring effective cost control without compromising operational quality. Establish and maintain relationships with fleet service providers, suppliers, and other third-party vendors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms, focusing on reliability and cost savings. Monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to agreed-upon standards and timelines.

Technology & Process Improvement

Leverage fleet management systems to monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs), using insights to inform strategic decisions. Drive the adoption of technology solutions that enhance fleet efficiency, such as telematics, GPS tracking, and automated maintenance alerts. Continuously improve fleet management processes, implementing new technologies and practices to increase efficiency and reduce downtime. Lead and mentor the central fleet operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support team members in their professional development. Ensure alignment with organizational objectives, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Key Qualifications

Experience:

Proven experience of at least 8+ years in fleet operations management, logistics, or a similar role with a strong track record of leading and optimizing large-scale fleet operations. Analytical Skills:

Strong data analysis skills; experience in utilizing data to drive fleet performance improvements and optimize operational costs. Vendor Management:

Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage vendor relationships effectively. Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and telematics solutions. Leadership Skills:

Strong team leadership capabilities, with experience in managing and developing teams to reach high performance. Organizational Skills:

Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
