Job Description

This is a hands-on leadership role for an engineer who can manage the full mechanical design of our battery energy storage system including design, FEA, and CFD. It is responsible for everything onboard our battery energy storage systems and the physical integration of all systems including the primary and secondary structures, wiring harness, thermal system, AHV and LV sub-systems, control panel, connectors etc.

Responsibilities

Lead body systems engineering across primary and secondary structures, wiring harness, thermal system, AHV and LV sub-systems, panels etc.

Develop technical specifications and targets.

Specify materials, components and create detailed CAD drawings.

Resolve design or manufacturing issues using CAD and analysis tools.

Provide support to technicians and assist in the assembly of systems.

Support the engineering release process.

Complete DFMEA at sub-system and component-level.

Lead mechanical system design reviews.

Must-haves

MEng degree in mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering.

5+ years experience in automotive and with electric vehicle system engineering.

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

Strong knowledge of materials, pressings, forming technologies.

Good understanding of High Voltage vehicle systems and safety.

Hands-on and practical.

Self-motivated and effective team player.

Eligible to work in the UK.
