About The Role

Are you a business development professional with a proven track record in the offshore renewables sector? Do you have experience implementing strategic account management approaches while driving best practices across a diverse sector? Are you looking for a role which prioritizes long-term account management rather than a commission-focused 'sales' role? APEM Group is looking for a Director of Client Growth to play a key strategic role within our Marine Science & Development business unit. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can help design and drive commercially driven BD activity across the offshore wind and marine renewable sector. You will have responsibility for developing the unit's approach to strategic account management (SAM), owning several strategic accounts yourself, and developing key partnerships as part of a Group-wide SAM initiative. You will use data and carry out deep market analysis, horizon scan for future developments, and identify emerging opportunities to ensure that activity is targeted and thought through. You will work with sector colleagues to gather and maintain intelligence on key and target clients. Your focus will always be on the long term, maintaining APEM Group's brand above short-term sales. To achieve this, you will work collaboratively with the marketing team to help lead the development of an effective and strategic commercial strategy for the marine sector, determining KPIs and actions across the pipeline to ensure continuous improvement. Over time, the dedicated marine BD team will grow, and you will lead this small team of BD professionals to help deliver your strategic plan. This will be supported by the marine consultancy teams, who work with our clients daily. You will help facilitate BD conversations and ensure they are supporting the client development strategy. You will have:

Experience of working in the offshore wind or renewables sector Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development, sales, and strategic development roles and projects. Established network of contacts within the marine sector, principally offshore wind Strong track record in the development, articulation, and implementation of business strategy Excellent communication and project management skills Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, geographic regions, and technical areas. You will be offered the chance to work on a variety of projects, many of our employees have worked on projects that have been of personal interest to them. We match this with a commitment to continuous development and learning to support your career. We also offer benefits to look after you, from private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health first aiders, and comprehensive income protection if you cannot work. We also offer superb flexible working options, balancing work with your life. Next steps

We are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive team. If you can't tick every box on our job description, then we are still keen to hear from you and are open to supporting your development. That may be working part-time or supporting you to gain experience in a specific area - we are a growing company and are able to adapt roles to reflect individual skills. If you think you have what it takes to join our fast-growing business, then please apply immediately on our website. All we need is some basic information and your CV; we will review all applications quickly and will respond to all applications. About Us
