Opportunity Summary Whitetower Energy is the UK based operations company for Rockland Capital, focused on the acquisition, development, and optimization of companies and projects in the energy sector. As a NAES employee seconded to Whitetower Energy, the Director Commercial Operations is responsible for management direction and leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and economic operation of Owner Assets. Scope of Responsibility
The Director Commercial Operations operates independently with general direction, making decisions within legal and policy constraints and addressing complex work situations. Effective communication with the Owner, CEO of Whitetower Energy Limited, Contractors, and subordinate personnel is essential. Primary Functions
The Director Commercial Operations will be responsible for: Agreeing on trading strategy and risk management policies with senior management. Managing daily power generation and offers in line with agreed strategies. Negotiating fuel supply and/or transportation agreements. Analyzing market trends and regulatory changes. Ensuring compliance with market rules and participating in discussions about market changes. Monitoring participation in power generation and grid stability projects. Producing detailed reports on trading activities and presenting findings to stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with regulations and contractual obligations. Managing emissions and representing Whitetower Energy in government matters. Providing leadership and guidance to Contractors and Vendors. Completing other tasks as requested by the CEO. Working Relationships
The Director Commercial Operations reports to the CEO and collaborates with various teams and external expertise. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements may include standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, and occasionally lifting up to 15 kg. The primary work location will be remote, with travel required to asset and vendor locations. Job Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering preferred. 10+ years of experience in the UK Energy sector. In-depth knowledge of energy markets and trading regulations. Strong analytical skills and experience working with an Energy Manager. Experience developing energy bids for gas turbines is desirable. Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
