Our new Chief Executive has fostered a unified, dynamic approach to transformation, allowing us to pick up the pace still further. We’ve come a long way, but know that there is more to do, which is why we’re recruiting a cohort of new senior leaders who will accelerate our momentum, and ensure we achieve our ambitious vision at even greater pace.
This hugely important role will drive a new paradigm for energy and sustainability across both the Council and our city. At its heart is the rapid and effective delivery of our energy, environment and sustainability programmes, from initiation to realisation. This must include meeting rigorous ROI targets. More, you’ll act as our lead advisor on all environmental and sustainability issues, including climate change and carbon neutrality. A key responsibility will be to represent our interests in negotiations with Government on Net Zero and climate-associated initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
Appropriately qualified and a member of a relevant professional body.
Wide experience as a senior leader in a comparable role within a complex organisation.
Detailed grasp of the current operating environment for local authorities.
Exceptional professional skillset in people management, budgets and finance, planning and programme management.
Track record of designing and rolling out major change programmes that actively engage stakeholders and partners.
