The Role The Director of Finance position is a fantastic redeveloped role where the employer is seeking an individual that is going to go well-beyond BAU finance to evolve the businesses infrastructure. After a successful induction, and getting underneath the skin of the business, we are seeking an individual of evolving finance, systems and the infrastructure. A strong focus is going to be placed on automation, and BI reporting to provide essential data, insights and trends that Departmental Heads can utilise to influence decision making. The key components of the role will include: Reporting to the Board and SLT Production and presentation of monthly Board packs with ability to business partner, interact & influence senior stakeholders Ownership of financial control, governance, risk & compliance Ownership of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting & cashflow analysis Leading and involvement in process improvement projects Taxation and VAT returns Managing a small finance team ensuring robust month & year-end On Offer The position of Director of Finance is based in East Lothian, with flexible & hybrid working. The employer is keen to secure an individual that isn’t doing excess travel to get into the office regularly on a weekly basis so is keen to secure someone located in East Lothian or the Scottish Borders. MUST
be a qualified Accountant, and can demonstrate that you have performed at SLT level in finance (Financial Controller/Head of Finance/Finance Director). The retiring Director of Finance qualified within an Accountancy Firm/Practice, and has a preference to replicating this background with their replacement. Individual that can demonstrate adding value through automation and BI reporting enhancements would be highly advantageous.
