The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our English Department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Director of Learning English, to start from April 2025. The successful candidate will lead the English Department, driving high standards of teaching and learning, developing a strategic vision for English, and ensuring students reach their full academic and personal potential. This role also involves mentoring staff, supporting engaging and inclusive lessons, and collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team to contribute to whole-school improvement. This is a full-time, permanent role, paid based on the STPC Leadership Pay Range points 6-10 (FTE £56,316 - £62,202), dependent on experience. The Abbey School is a mixed secondary school with a thriving population of over 1100 students. We believe that school should be a place where young people can discover and develop their own talents.
