Job Description

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are currently working with a leading manufacturer and supplier into the automotive sector with the appointment of an Operations Director. This Operations Director is a pivotal role and one which will forge part of the Senior Leadership Team, overseeing a headcount of c600 across multiple site locations in the Midlands. Our client is keen to appoint a progressive, career minded and results driven professional with a strong background in manufacturing environments, combining operational excellence with a proven track record in continuous improvement and multisite management. Key responsibilities will include: Develop and implement operational strategies that deliver scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective results. Provide strategic oversight across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring consistency in operational performance and adherence to standards. Contribute to the wider group’s strategic goals as a key member of the senior management team. Oversee and optimise all operational performance measures across the end-to-end operation, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Drive key metrics including productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring targets are achieved. Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure operational integration across the business. Deliver operational efficiencies that directly enhance profitability and growth. Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and drive impactful results. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Tailor site-specific improvement plans while maintaining alignment with the business’s broader objectives. Manage resources effectively to maximise throughput and minimize waste. Continuously enhance customer satisfaction and retention through service excellence and process improvement. Parkinson Lee Executive Search are keen to speak with people that have the following skills and experience: Degree qualified or equivalent training within Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, MBA Qualification highly desirable. Professional certification in Lean Six Sigma, highly desirable. Experienced manufacturing operations leader with demonstrable skills in multisite management. Passionate about continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and a strong track record in driving operational efficiency. Solid commercial and financial skills, with a history of delivering cost savings and driving profitability. Experience managing customer-centric operations in alignment with business objectives. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all organisational levels. Our client is offering a competitive salary of £120,000 - £130,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package, complimented with the opportunity to lead and shape operations at a pivotal time for the business and a platform for professional growth in a progressive and dynamic organisation.
