The Director of Operations, Strategy and Delivery will work directly with the CEO and play a crucial role in ensuring that the consultancy’s business operates efficiently. They are looking for someone to complete process improvement and allow the business to grow within industry standards and sustainability frameworks. This role is flexible and dynamic, and they are seeking someone to join the senior leadership and advise on areas for improvement within the company. This senior role requires an individual with a deep understanding of engineering practices within the sustainability space, who can navigate complex compliance requirements and drive initiatives that enhance the company's ability to deliver sustainable, regulatory-compliant solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and regulatory compliance, combined with a passion for sustainability. Key Responsibilities :

Lead and manage the engineering strategy across all projects, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and industry best practices.

Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure engineering projects meet internal sustainability standards and expectations.

Act as the key liaison between internal engineering teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with sustainability objectives.

Provide expert guidance on sustainability standards, engineering processes, and best practices, advising senior leadership and project teams.

Review and assess engineering designs, plans, and projects to ensure they meet the required sustainability criteria.

Stay up-to-date with emerging sustainability trends and technologies to ensure the consultancy remains at the forefront of engineering excellence.

Conduct audits and assessments of ongoing projects to identify potential risks and sustainability gaps, providing recommendations for corrective actions.

Develop and deliver training programs to engineering and project management teams on sustainability practices and process improvements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable projects.

Qualifications and Experience :

Proven experience in a senior leadership or engineering leadership role, preferably within an engineering or sustainability consultancy context.

Strong technical background in engineering with a focus on sustainability, environmental management, or energy efficiency.

Experience in managing complex engineering projects and ensuring they meet sustainability goals.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess sustainability risks and implement solutions.

A degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field (relevant certifications are advantageous).

Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., Chartered Engineer status) is desirable.
