Director of Operations

Covering Manchester and London

£75-£90,000 + Bonuses

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations to join our client's established, and growing, medical team, to oversee and managing the day-to-day operations of 3 cosmetic surgery hospitals.

To succeed in this role you will need a strong background in a surgical setting, preferably with a cosmetic focus, and a proven track record in scaling businesses and managing multiple locations. It is also essential that you have CQC experience and practical experience of inspections, complaints, and setting up policies and procedures.This is a full-time position requiring a hands-on approach, and you must be willing to work exclusively with this company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the organisation, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with company policies and objectives.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to set long-term operational goals and strategies, aligning them with the company's overall vision and growth objectives.
  • Business Scaling: Utilise experience in scaling businesses to expand our operations into new locations, ensuring seamless integration and consistency across all sites.
  • CQC Compliance: Manage and ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations, including handling inspections and complaints. You must have experience in managing CQC-registered locations.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and support to cross-functional teams. This includes supervising Doctors, Nurses and Clerical staff, providing constructive feedback, and promoting professional growth and development.
  • Process Improvement: Analyse current operational processes and implement improvements to maximise efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure operational activities are financially viable and aligned with company goals.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customer support processes are in place and optimised to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Hands-On Approach: Be prepared to get hands-on and assist in various aspects of the business as needed.


Requirements and Skills:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Director of Operations or in a similar senior leadership role within a surgical setting, preferably with a cosmetic surgey background.
  • Business Scaling: Demonstrable experience in scaling businesses and setting up operations in multiple locations.
  • CQC Knowledge: Thorough understanding of CQC regulations and experience in managing CQC-registered locations, including handling inspections and complaints.
  • Leadership: Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Mobility: Must be able to drive and willing to travel between London, Manchester, and other locations as required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with business management software.

  • Salary: A competitive starting salary of £75,000 - £90,000 per annum.
