Here in Tayside, we are continually seeking ways to transform and improve the way we deliver health and care to the people of Tayside. We are focusing on clinically-led, whole-system redesign, creating modern, world class services. At the heart of what we do is a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, affordable, and sustainable care, while shaping a workforce that drives better outcomes for everyone. NHS Tayside is one of Scotland’s larger health systems with a baseline recurring revenue allocation of £1.2 billion and serving a population of around 490,000 people across Angus, Dundee, Perth & Kinross and North East Fife. We have an ambitious transformation agenda, so we are seeking a Director of Public Health to join our Chief Executive Team who shares our aims and values. We are seeking an extraordinary individual, who will act with integrity, supporting the organisation in building and maintaining a culture where people are treated fairly, consistently and with respect; where everyone has a voice; and where equity, inclusion and diversity are valued. Reporting to the Chief Executive, and as an Executive Director of the NHS Tayside Board, you will share corporate accountability with other members of the Chief Executive Team for the overall leadership of health and care services in Tayside, and will play a critical role in shaping and delivering our strategic plan. You will provide professional leadership in Public Health across NHS Tayside as well as the three Integrated Joint Boards (IJBs), and via the Community Planning Partnerships for local authorities and other community planning partners. You will lead a team of talented Public Health professionals with responsibility for health improvement; health intelligence; health protection; health care public health, and the Board’s public health response. To thrive in this role, you will be an accomplished, credible and collaborative system leader, with extensive professional experience and a passion for quality and excellence. You will be politically astute, with a commitment to delivering outstanding, innovative public services. You will also be committed to working across the health and care system to reform services with our partners and have the personal qualities to inspire trust and confidence from a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. You will have a legacy of collaboration, with a credible track record of shaping and delivering transformational change across complex organisational boundaries, and will demonstrate a strong focus on sustainable approaches to improvement and whole system integrated working. How to Apply: A copy of your current CV. A covering letter, addressing what interests you in the role and detailing your three most relevant skills/experiences that make you suitable for the role, as set out in the job pack. All applications will be acknowledged and treated in the strictest of confidence. Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email. Please check your emails regularly, including your junk/spam folder.
