The Director of Sales (EMEA) is responsible for leading a key account sales team driving commercial growth in our key accounts. This pivotal role focuses on driving orders and revenue growth, building and maintaining critical customer relationships, and ensuring the overall success of the team. This position requires a highly motivated individual with extensive experience in sales leadership and key account management. This position reports to the Commercial General Manager, EMEA and is part of the commercial organization located in Cambridge, UK and will be fully remote. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Be accountable for the achievement of the team’s assigned targets for profitable margin and sales revenue, contributing to the achievement of the EMEA’s overall revenue and strategic objectives Lead, develop, mentor, and motivate a team of high-performing Key Account Managers Build, develop and refine sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, working cross functionally and globally Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze data and identify areas for improvement Ensure accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management to support business planning and resource allocation Drive revenue growth for key accounts through proactive and reactive promotion of our portfolio of products and service capabilities Drive the creation of account and territory plans to drive growth and opportunity in EMEA The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor's degree in a life science related field, business administration, marketing, or a related field 10 years proven experience in sales management role, running a key account team Experience working in matrix organizations, with a cross functional collaborative mindset Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of sales strategies, methodologies, and best practices. Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and sales performance improvements. Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Ability to travel 60% of time (both domestic and international) Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Running an EMEA based team Knowledge of Global Key account management At Abcam we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce.
