Director of Technology - £160,000 + Benefits Join a business who have raised nearly £150m in funding. They are pushing innovation in the FinTech/Banking/Mortgage space - what they need now is someone to come and take the reigns in taking the existing technology team to the next level with regards to their Technology department. What is this business looking for? They are looking to bolster their existing team and find a Director of Technology to build and lead high-performing engineering teams. You will be a Technical leader with the ability to shape technology, technical teams, and the technology roadmap - which covers technology strategy, enterprise technology architecture and the roadmap. You will be a "people leader". Someone who boasts an impressive track record when it comes to setting standards, inspiring leaders, coaching, upskilling, and hiring - all of the things that knit together to elevate forward a high-performing engineering team. You will have full autonomy in this role; getting the opportunity to be the key decision maker when it comes to both processes and standards whilst placing the business' customers at the heart of all decision making whilst meeting defined corporate objectives which are underpinned through best practice in the industry. Your direct reports will consist of 5 leaders within the business: Head of Product Engineering, Head of Platform Engineering, Head of IT Service Delivery, Head of IT Security, and the Principal Technology Architect. They have grown 2 x offices to over 300+ heads so far, and don't plan on slowing down anytime soon as they have just bolstered their product offering with a mortgage lending platform - which is set to further take the business off! Roles and Responsibilities: People:

Building the culture, clear roles and responsibilities defined within the team, talent and succession planning, and development plans in place to improve capability. Enterprise Architecture:

Responsible for the Technology strategy, enterprise technology architecture, and technology roadmap covering Application, Integration, Infrastructure, and Security. Engineering:

Effective software engineering across financial products such as Mortgages and Savings. Collaborate with partnerships and suppliers/3rd parties. Support Change Delivery:

Ensure effective engineering delivery, QA, technology assurance, and leadership of key tech initiatives. IT Operations/IT Service Delivery. QA:

Effective quality processes, tools, and practice. Cost:

Manage costs and budgets and optimization opportunities. Risk:

1st line risk and control management for all teams across tech and enterprise-tech risks are defined and managed effectively. *You must have experience within Banking or Mortgage-related technology to apply for this role. Technology (Bonus points for experience with their technology, however, this is not essential): The Engineering teams utilize Python and Django to build RESTful APIs as part of their micro-service architecture. Their solutions are also fully serverless using AWS Fargate, Lambda, APIs, DynamoDB, Redshift, Redis and many more AWS services. In addition to this, they also use GitHub, Jenkins, CodePipeline, Jira, Confluence, Slack and more to build great software. Remote/Hybrid:

Most of the technical team are remote - there will be occasional travel to either Wrexham or London depending on the business need. With this in mind, a couple of times a month is the expectation we are managing. They can help with Hotels etc if needed.
