The Director Product Owner, Scientific Experience Disruption will report directly to the Senior Director, Lab Scientist Experience. This pivotal role seeks new ways for experiment execution and data journey that starts within the labs. This role requires a technical and scientific understanding of R&D to optimize content processing, define new approaches, and work with Technical teams to creatively find solutions to R&D problems.

This leader will engage with the scientific community to understand their experiences, collate business problems to be solved, and communicate these to product teams. They will also explore novel technical experiments that can address these challenges while aligning with the overarching strategy. A deep knowledge of the Pharma R&D process is essential to ensure delivery is enterprise-first, removing duplicative solutions over time to simplify the landscape for scientists without compromising their expectations.

Scientific understanding and R&D process knowledge are more critical than technical knowledge. This leader should also have a strong grasp of product management, product design, and delivery of products that create standardized and contextualized data. Experience in ideating new technology to improve the R&D experience, particularly for AI/ML, along with strong experience in agile methodologies, product management, financial management, and a value-first mindset is required.

Most importantly, a proven track record of partnership with R&D and central Tech functions like GP&T is necessary. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Partner with R&D on identifying and solving specific R&D problems with novel solutions. Demonstrate thought leadership and deliver modern solutions to optimize R&D opportunities, minimizing scientific user disruption to create contextualized data. Build exceptional relationships and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment with R&D's ambitions and strategy, especially with tech partners in the Onyx Research team and GPT. Work across the Quality Engineering and Labs team to align strategy and utilize capabilities for Data Engineering, Engineering, DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, and Architecture. Drive standardization, metadata, and contextualization of scientific R&D data across a diverse instrument landscape. Ensure end-to-end understanding of all laboratory processes and support R&D with an enterprise view of value. Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor's degree. Demonstrable experience in senior technology delivery roles or deep scientific knowledge across multiple R&D processes. Experience in managing delivery of novel technical experiments and multicultural project teams. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult widely and facilitate agreement on critical issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively. Ability to build and manage successful teams across multiple organizations. Track record of delivering insights and recommendations to business leaders. Preferred Qualifications:
