The Directorate General Manager will manage specific specialties within Medicine & Emergency Care, as well as a Trust-wide profile, continuing to help build on our reputation for delivering high-quality and well-led services. The successful candidate will be expected to drive forward services, implementing new transformation initiatives while maintaining a strong handle on key performance metrics. They will identify opportunities for improvement and growth and contribute to business planning and strategy for the service. The department's portfolio requires a strong grasp of performance standards, and the successful candidate will oversee and drive compliance for RTT, cancer and diagnostic targets. The new hospital is a significant milestone for the organisation, and the successful postholder will be at the forefront of this transition. As the operational lead, you will have a direct hand in overseeing the development and implementation of projects, contributing to the new hospital's success and improving patient care. Main duties of the job

With a passion for patient-centred care, you will have a proven track record of achieving high-quality patient outcomes and delivering performance standards. The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to drive change and improve care is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to: Make autonomous decisions regarding the operational management of services within the Directorate. Day-to-day responsibility for the operational management of specific services/departments within the Directorate. Identify and implement ongoing modernisation and new ways of working and innovation within the Directorate. Routinely monitor and track performance associated with national targets and trust objectives, taking action where required to ensure all targets are met within the Directorate. Troubleshoot operational issues that affect performance within the Directorate daily, liaising with relevant managers to identify and resolve them as required. Working for our organisation

Qualifications

Educated to degree level or equivalent Management/Leadership qualification or evidence of relevant experience Masters qualification or in process of obtaining Experience

Demonstrable line/general management experience within acute services, with responsibility for operational matters including staff management, budgetary responsibility, performance targets, waiting list management, discharge arrangements. Proven project management experience involving transformational change. Proven experience of service development. Proven experience of change management ability.
