We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at a specialist SEND school setting in Kendal. This is a rewarding role where you will be directly supporting children with disabilities, helping them thrive in a nurturing and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEND), ensuring their participation and success in classroom activities. Work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to deliver tailored educational plans. Encourage independence, confidence, and social skills development in students. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students. Assist with classroom management, supporting students both academically and emotionally. Provide personal care when required, including assistance with mobility, hygiene, and other daily living tasks. Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children or adults with SEND, ideally within an educational or care setting. Teaching Assistant (TA) qualification or Care qualification is highly beneficial. Prior classroom experience would be an advantage. A kind, compassionate, and patient approach to supporting students. Proactive, with the ability to adapt to changing needs and environments.
