Title: Disrepair Manager

Salary: £61,949 - £70,000 London based or £54,417 - £62,468 Depending on experience (plus Essential Car User Allowance £1,300 per annum*)

Our Property services team are looking for an experienced person to lead our Disrepair team on a permanent basis in the role of Disrepair Manager. The disrepair team consists of Senior Surveyors, Surveyors and technical support staff. We also have our own dedicated maintenance operatives and supervisor to support the service. This senior role reports to our Head of Special Projects and Sustainability.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of managing people, budgets and contractors. Candidates should have experience of working in Social Housing Repairs and Maintenance dealing with the Disrepair Protocol. You should also be able to develop positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external, in particular legal framework consultants.
You will have worked in the Buildings and Maintenance industry and have the relevant qualifications; most of all you will be motivated to improve the service to all our customers.
You will be responsible for delivering disrepair management, ensuring strict protocol is followed and legal requirements are met. You will manage the expenditure budget and ensure that our contractors perform to the agreed standard.
The duties extend to overseeing a team of reactive disrepair technicians who report into the Disrepair Supervisor, ensuring that all in-house disrepair jobs are closed in a timely manner with outstanding customer service demonstrated on a daily basis in all appointments attended.
To be shortlisted you must be able to clearly demonstrate the following:
Experience of delivering building and maintenance services in addition to a relevant technical qualification.
Experience of working with the Legal Disrepair protocol.
Experience of working in a Social Housing environment.
Experience of managing people, budgets and contractors.
Ability to lead and motivate others to deliver exemplary customer service.
A broad range of communication and influencing skills.
Strong organisation and prioritising ability.
We are a multi-site organisation, so some roles may require occasional travel between offices, but expenses will be covered. Attendance in London will be expected twice a week with frequent ad-hoc London-based site visits, and attending court in the South.
