An opportunity has arisen to join the Dorking PCN team as a Band 7 District Nurse Team lead on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be welcomed into an established district nurse team who work closely with members of the wider multidisciplinary team across the PCN and Surrey Downs Health and Care. Main duties of the job

Provide leadership within the District Nursing Team, responsible for the assessment of patient needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of a programme of care within agreed standards. Facilitate educational programmes for basic, post-basic, and in-service training in close liaison with the Learning and Development Team. Lead and facilitate patient-focused, innovative research-based practice, in line with Surrey Downs Health and Care objectives. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Demonstrate clinical expertise and act as a professional role model to all staff. Treat all patients as individuals, respecting their privacy and dignity at all times. Be accountable for assessments and care planning, and prescribing appropriately for the patient group. Promote the health of patients and provide support and advice. Plan cover, appropriate staffing, and skill mix ensuring adequate cover at all times. Provide specialist knowledge and advice to influence the Surrey Downs Health and Care strategic agenda. Maintain clear and comprehensive records according to procedures. Identify workforce planning issues and participate in recruitment, selection, and retention of clinical staff. Provide support and a learning environment for pre and post-registration students. Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards of care at all times. Manage any budget that is within the remit of this post effectively and efficiently. Participate in research and development opportunities as appropriate. Assist with the resolution of complaints within the clinical specialty. Negotiate and work effectively across all agencies for maximum effectiveness of care. Act upon procedures that protect vulnerable individuals. Lead and implement the SDH&C Clinical Governance Strategy within your practice area. Lead and implement the SDH&C Risk Management Strategy within your practice area. Undertake other duties as required consistent with the responsibilities of the post. Qualifications

1st level registration educated to Level 3. Evidence of team management. District Nurse Qualification. Management qualification/courses or willingness to work towards. Experience

Experienced mentor at pre and post-registration level. Experience of nurse leadership and management. Experience of appraisal and clinical supervision. Experience of developing strategies, clinical guidelines, and policies. Skills

Critical analysis skills. Ability to assess, deliver, evaluate, and benchmark quality care. Ability to deal with conflict professionally. IT skills and timely data entry. Other

Car owner with clean UK Licence. Innovative and flexible. Team player. You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
