Applications will be accepted beginning Friday, June 21, 2024 12:00 AM (Pacific Standard Time) Job Description This position operates under the oversight of the Special Programs Director. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Participate as a member of the Student Study Team or Response to Intervention at the schools to which the candidate is assigned. Participate in evaluation of students to determine 504/special education eligibility and write evaluation reports. Prepares a wide variety of written materials (i.e. assessment reports, correspondence, for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information), in a timely manner. Coordinates with community agencies including medical, judicial, social service and mental health services for the purpose of determining appropriate treatments, etc., to meet the needs of specific students. Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations. Conduct functional behavioral assessments. Work with classroom teachers and special educators to write behavior plans/programs for students who require this as part of their IEP or 504 accommodation plan. Provide small group and/or one-on-one behavior services for students who require this as a related service on their IEPs or 504 accommodation plans. Develop supportive interpersonal relationships with teachers and educational support staff. Presents intervention philosophy to building staff, students, and parents. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Hold an Oregon Personnel Services License-School Psychologist Endorsement. Knowledge of federal and state special education laws. Knowledge of current best practices in assessments and behavioral interventions. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to provide an effective level of service. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and motivate peers. Communicate clearly with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community. Demonstrated ability to work in teams. Ability to interpret and synthesize student data. Demonstrated knowledge in a variety of educational assessments (i.e., behavior, intellectual, achievement). Strong written and oral communication skills.
