This is a great time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as the Lead Nurse for Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC).

We are currently in the process of redeveloping the hospital to provide a new state-of-the-art facility for the residents of Hillingdon and beyond, which supports the very best in the delivery of healthcare and will be fit for our future.

Following an internal restructure, we are excited to advertise this new post which is an essential role to support all of our UEC areas.

The post holder will be a highly visible professional who is approachable to patients, their families/carers, and staff.

The post holder will work closely with the clinical lead, service manager matrons, and senior management team to support effective clinical strategy and operational management of the services, ensuring high quality, effective, timely, and safe patient care within the resources available.

The post will provide clinical leadership, management, specialist support, and expert advice within the field of emergency care for both adults and paediatrics. The post holder will provide professional leadership and management to all accountable staff to provide a patient-focused service.

This position will involve: Leading and line managing the nursing teams for both adults and paediatrics. Being responsible for the daily operational running of services cross-site providing emergency care. Supporting the Divisional Director of Nursing and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Holding responsibility for designated nursing budgets. Ensuring key quality and safety metrics are met for emergency care.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and maternity services.

The safety and well-being of our patients and staff is paramount. We are making urgent improvements to address this, particularly in infection prevention and control. We are making progress by working in partnership with local GPs, charities, community services, academic partners, our local authority, neighbouring hospitals, and the wider North West London Integrated care system.
