We’re looking to expand our development team and are seeking a Python developer. This is an exciting and challenging role where you will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will join our Application Development team working on refining and enhancing our Django-based Promotional platform. We use established open-source technologies and you’ll be involved in making improvements as well as developing new functionality in support of client projects. Hive has a great team spirit with a relaxed atmosphere, but an effective and hardworking environment. We are looking for a creative and innovative person who is passionate about good coding. Working with us, you will be involved in:

Writing new functionality for clients' projects Maintaining and upgrading the Hive platform and server infrastructure Providing technical support for the platform You should be able to demonstrate excellent programming and team working skills that will allow you to thrive in this environment. The ideal person will be able to show passion and enthusiasm for all aspects of web development. You must have:

First-class Object-Oriented programming skills Experience programming in Python Experience with Python Web frameworks Experience working with SQL databases and a good knowledge of SQL A working knowledge of Linux Experience using DVCS tools such as Git or Mercurial The ability to manage their own workload and prioritise appropriately The ability to work well in a team and provide support to colleagues as appropriate Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to converse with people at all levels, especially non-technical Nice but not essential:

Experience working directly with clients and 3rd party suppliers Experience working for a small company Additional Information

We’re about 40 strong and based in a purpose-built office located on a working farm in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside close to Leicester, Nottingham and Loughborough.
