You will provide a pro-active front line service for domestic abuse victims delivering a pathway of care focusing on safety to the victims. Providing an advocacy and support service throughout their stay.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality Domestic Abuse service as part of the safeguarding team providing professional advice, support and education to the multi-professional team, patient and carers by recognising, prioritising and responding appropriately to Domestic Abuse concerns.

Main duties of the job

As an experienced post holder you will provide effective Domestic abuse activity by working with current legislation to ensure compliance with the Domestic abuse Act 2021, Care Act 2014, Children's Act 2004, MCA 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards 2009, and local Safeguarding Board procedures and safeguarding partnership procedures.

The post holder will need to be able to support the development and implementation of Domestic abuse practice across the Trust, ensuring effective multi-agency liaison and education on Domestic Abuse.

The post holder will complete relevant risk assessments and develop plans of individualised care in relation to domestic abuse/safeguarding.

To engage directly with victims of domestic abuse, many of whom are reluctant to engage with statutory services, to offer independent advocacy and safety planning.

To develop and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies to support survivors of domestic abuse including:

Police Women's Aid Social Services Health Housing agencies Victim Support Probation Court Service CPS

Person Specification

Qualification and Training

Essential Relevant Degree or evidence of equivalent experience. GCSE English Language - minimum grade C or equivalent An IDVA qualification, or other specialist training in relation to domestic abuse/ safeguarding. Proficient in the use of IT systems

Desirable Willingness to develop professional qualifications/skills in line with the requirements/ development of the post

Knowledge and Experience

Essential Knowledge and understanding of the Domestic Abuse Act (2021). Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding principles & procedures Experience of working with vulnerable groups and victims of Domestic Abuse. Experience of safety planning and working with the wider partnership Experience of contributing to data collection and report writing. Experience of being exposed to distressing and sensitive situations

Desirable Experience of delivering training Experience of delivering improvements in patient safety and quality. Participated in Audits.
