Help victims understand and explore their housing options, working alongside housing officers. Holistic Approach:
Support survivors of domestic abuse, whilst also recognising the needs of other household members, including children, to ensure comprehensive care. Empowerment:
Enable individuals and families to live free from domestic abuse, fostering their confidence and independence through suitable support. Risk Management:
Collaborate with victims to develop and implement effective risk management and safety plans, including referrals to relevant services. Referral Pathways:
Proactively promote and facilitate access to specialist domestic abuse services, creating robust referral pathways. Advocacy and Rights:
Inform and advise victims and survivors of their rights and available support options, advocating on their behalf to navigate barriers to assistance and protection. Respect:
Treat all service users with dignity, respect, and empathy, fostering a safe and supportive environment. Awareness and Training:
Act as an advocate for raising awareness of domestic abuse within the housing sector, providing training and guidance to housing professionals through peer support and shared expertise. Requirements:
Relevant Experience:
Demonstrable experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse. Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the development of rapport with service users from diverse backgrounds. Teamwork and Initiative:
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and take initiative in managing a caseload. Housing Awareness:
Understanding of homelessness and housing issues, with a commitment to addressing these challenges sensitively. Empathetic Approach:
Compassionate and commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and families. IT Proficiency:
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Driving License:
