If you have answered yes to those questions, then there is an exciting job opportunity to join Dorset Coast Forum as a Project Officer. What you will be doing The Project Officer, as part of the Dorset Coast Forum (DCF) team, is responsible for working in collaboration with DCF members, authorities, and external stakeholders on subjects relating to economic, environmental, and social matters in regard to the Dorset coast. You will develop and lead several projects, working alongside partners and coastal communities. Your work will involve organizing and facilitating community and stakeholder engagement events and activities, whilst also communicating updates with project partners and the wider public. Current key assignments include developing a new partnership project for Marine Nature Recovery in Dorset and delivery of community and stakeholder engagement for a coastal change project in Charmouth. About you We are looking for great communicators. Someone who has knowledge of coastal matters but also enjoys delivering and working collaboratively with coastal communities and stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes. The post will involve delivering several projects simultaneously; therefore, candidates should have excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize with changing parameters. You will have excellent communication and project management skills and experience and knowledge of stakeholder and community engagement. It is also desirable that candidates applying for the post have knowledge of marine nature recovery, natural capital approaches, and coastal change. Further Information

This post is full-time (37 hours per week) fixed-term contract for 24 months, to be reviewed before the end of the contract and possibly extended depending on project funding. We welcome applications from candidates seeking reduced hours, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week, to ensure the role’s requirements can be effectively carried out. The Officer will be expected to travel to meetings and events, so should have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. This may occasionally include ad-hoc attendance at evening and/or weekend meetings and events.
