Drainage Engineer – Senior/Principal
Location: Sheffield Salary: £35k – 50k Type: Permanent Due to current and increasing workload, our environmental consultancy client is looking to recruit a Drainage Engineer at Senior (or Principal) level. You will join a successful team that offers opportunity. Important:
Substantial drainage design experience gained with highways, civil, residential, or commercial schemes is essential. Ideally, experience across all four. We require candidates to be conversant with design software programs such as MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and Civils3D, including integration with BIM models, as well as being comfortable liaising with clients. We would be keen to see candidates with a good spread of experience across residential, commercial, civil, and highways. Requirements (all or most):
Substantial drainage design experience. Strong knowledge of DMRB and Sewers for Adoption standards for drainage design. Expertise in software design methods such as MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and Civils3D, including integration with BIM models. Technically competent in fundamental hydraulic design principles and ability to apply manual calculation methods where software methods are not available. Understanding of flood modelling of overland flow and its application in highways projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including good report writing skills.
