About the Role: I am seeking an experienced Draughtsman to join a well-established secondary steel design and fabrication company based in Cornwall. This role requires a minimum of three years of experience working with Tekla Structures and a proven background in steelwork design. You will play a key role in producing accurate and detailed drawings to support the fabrication and installation of secondary steelwork projects.
Roles and Responsibilities: Create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for secondary steelwork using Tekla Structures software. Generate accurate General Arrangement (GA) drawings, assembly drawings, and part lists (Bills of Materials). Work closely with engineers, project managers, and the fabrication team to ensure all drawings meet project specifications and deadlines. Review and interpret client specifications, drawings, and technical data. Make necessary revisions to drawings based on feedback from clients, engineers, or site teams. Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards and company quality processes. Participate in design meetings and contribute to problem-solving during project development. Support the team in resolving technical queries throughout the fabrication and installation phases. Maintain accurate records of all drawings and revisions.
Requirements: Minimum of 3 years' experience using Tekla Structures software within the steelwork industry. Experience working on secondary steelwork projects, such as staircases, balustrades, platforms, and other bespoke fabrications. Strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with project teams. Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
