Drug and Alcohol Nurse – New Beginnings

·
Full time
Aspire Drug and Alcohol Services are provided in partnership by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Trust (RDaSH) and The Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS). We pride ourselves on being innovative and forward thinking, and work closely with the recovery communities we serve to provide flexible, responsive services, which offer the best possible recovery outcomes for all our service users.

New Beginnings is a specialist in-patient detoxification unit for drug and alcohol service users combined with a structured day programme (SDP) accessible to service users undergoing detoxification. The staff on the detoxification unit work as part of an integrated team with the structured day programme staff to offer a comprehensive and seamless programme to service users.

The successful candidate will act as a named nurse to a defined allocated shared caseload of service users with a low to high degree of complexity whilst they are undergoing detoxification on the unit under the supervision of the Senior Drug and Alcohol Nurse, Team leader, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Speciality Doctor/Consultant as appropriate.

Responsibilities include: Linking service users with the structured day programme to access a range of group work and recovery support interventions such as education, training, employment, debt management, housing, sports and diversionary activities, and other wrap-around services. Building strong links with other statutory and non-statutory organisations to increase physical and economic capital for service users. Working in cooperation with mutual aid groups, providing facilitated access and assertive linkage to these networks.

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) employs around 3700 talented colleagues who are very much appreciated, valued, and respected.

We are passionate about enhancing the quality of our service and we work hard to attract and select the right colleagues for our organisation. Our goal is to employ those who share our passion for providing first-class care while remaining committed to our vision and values.
