Duty and Assessment Social Worker

We have a vacancy for a Duty & Assessment Social Worker to join Wigan MBC. You will need demonstrable experience within a Duty Service previously and need to be able to start a new contract in the next 4 weeks. Main Responsibilities Carrying out Initial Assessments Initiating Care Proceedings Assessments undertaken are under the single assessment framework Care planning and signposting S17 reports Initial Court Statements Emergency visits Chairing meetings One week out of five is spent on duty (which is completely office based) Collaborative working with other professionals and agencies to meet statutory deadlines and the identified needs of children, young people and their support network.
