As a Duty Manager, you will support the Depot Manager in the day-to-day running of the busy warehouse & transport operation, and be instrumental in driving service, quality and compliance across the depot.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day-to-day warehouse leadership of people within a busy warehouse & transport environment.
  • Day-to-day support of planning department.
  • Be the Customer Care escalation point in absence of depot manager.
  • Assist in controlling costs and continuous improvement upon KPIs.
  • Assist the Depot Manager with site H&S & compliance.
  • Ensure and manage safe working practices on site.
  • Manage elevated expectations to deliver the business agenda.
  • Champion a positive communication culture throughout the depot and across the business with stakeholders, by building bridges and maintaining effective communication.
  • Support the Depot Manager in developing and aligning escalation process, with services teams and counterparts at site.
  • Assist the Depot Manager in developing service structures and processes to meet service requirements.


EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven management experience within warehousing and distribution, or supply chain.
  • Able to understand and adhere to H&S rules and regulations, and company procedures in line with ISO 9002.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a particular emphasis on client engagement.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, conflict management and resolution, training, development and staff appraisal.
  • Able to assign responsibilities and set clear expectations, ensuring work results are understood.
  • Skill to solve problems and develop solutions as well as mentoring and developing others.
  • IT literate (MS Office).


BENEFITS PACKAGE

  • Salary: £35,000-£40,000 (depending on experience)
  • Annual leave: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays.
