Permanent 37.50 hours per week Role summary/ Job purpose The Duty Manager will be responsible for providing a warm welcoming environment for all visitors to the NBC including Olympic athletes, Gym & Badminton club members, Museum guests, Hotel lodge guests and Badminton England office team. The role requires someone who is customer focused, adaptable, and capable of handling a variety of tasks and works well in a team as well as on their own initiative. The Duty manager ensures all Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to compliance records are maintained. Main responsibilities Job Description Customer Service & Operational Management: Proudly representing Badminton England NBC team, embodying our values and promoting a positive brand image Maintain visibility in all areas of the business, engaging with customers and setting the standard and be the example to team members – living BE values. Provide excellent customer service to all our customer types including hotel guests, gym/badminton members, ad hoc facility users and all staff. Oversee daily operations of the National Badminton Centre, maintaining facilities and ensuring smooth functioning. Key Holder – ensure the centre is opened and closed on a shift basis Carry out and supervise Operational checks/ cleaning tasks in accordance with Opspal including contract cleaning checks. Co-ordinate with the maintenance technician to ensure the centre is safe and well maintained. Reporting any repairs needed. Financial Management: Handle daily financial responsibilities such as overseeing transactions and ensuring accurate record keeping for sales and bookings. Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Staff Supervision: Coordinate the staff on shift (housekeeping and reception) Foster a motivating work environment through living our BE values. Evaluate contractors to ensure quality standards (Including contractor permits to work) Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of the building Ensure emergency response readiness including the coordinating of evacuations. Work with Management to ensure adherence to procedures. First Aid Qualified – complete accident/incident reports follow any First Aid incidents Carry out facility Health and Safety Checks by using OpsPal. Escalating where necessary Communication: Facilitate effective handovers, resolve issues proactively, and communicate regularly with senior management. Handle customer complaints, operational challenges, and sales inquiries efficiently. Qualifications & Skills: Excellent customer service skills Excellent communication and familiarity with health and safety regulations. Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment. Competent IT skills Previous supervisory experience Additional Requirements: First Aid certification (training provided if needed). Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
