We are thrilled to be looking for an early-career director based in Scotland for the development of a new play by Conor O'Dwyer entitled
The Things You Can Only Lose Once . Framework Theatre Company are delighted to be commissioning this new play, which was submitted to our open call project pitch opportunity in summer 2024. This project is funded by the National Lottery via Creative Scotland. We are now looking for an emerging director to work on the development of this play in Spring 2025, with the intention of continuing to production in 2026. Due to the subject matter and themes, we are particularly interested in hearing from LGBTQ+ directors, especially those who are transgender or non-binary. Directors should:
Self-identify as an emerging/early-career theatre-maker. Be permanently based in Scotland. Be particularly interested in being an LGBTQ+ director, especially those who are transgender or non-binary. Commitment:
Casting (2 days, undertaken remotely) - Late Feb/Early March Prep (2 days, undertaken remotely) - Late March/Early April R&D (Edinburgh) - 14th - 18th April Fee:
£1384 inclusive of Holiday Pay (breaking down to 1 week in room at £635, and 4 days at £150 for casting and prep work, plus holiday pay at 12.07%). Access & Travel Support Provided within Scotland. For more information and to apply, head to
