Children, Education and Justice Services Early Years Assistant - fixed term until 02/05/2025 Pirniehall Primary School Nursery Salary: £24,909 - £25,116 (pro-rata for sessional) Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at Pirniehall Nursery. Pirniehall Nursery offers places for children from three years until school age. In our nursery, the emphasis is on the importance of learning through play where children are encouraged to develop their own natural curiosity and creativity. This approach helps children begin the habit of learning and develop emotional maturity and social skills, benefiting their education and behaviour later on. The five aspects of children’s development, which we encourage in our Nursery, are: Emotional, personal and social development Communication and language Knowledge and understanding of the world Expressive and aesthetic development Physical development and movement Children attend during the following times: Morning class: 8.30am-11.40am Afternoon class: 12.15pm-3.25pm For more information on the job role, please see the attached job description. Applicants should be registered with the SSSC. Additional Information This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required for individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years. An unconditional offer of employment will be subject to the outcome of these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
