Children, Education and Justice Services Early Years Assistant

- fixed term until 07/11/2025 St Cuthbert's Nursery and St Cuthbert's RC Primary School Salary:

£24,909 - £25,116 Hours:

36 per week, 52 weeks We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Early Year Assistant to work collaboratively as a member of the team at St Cuthbert's Early Learning & Childcare. As a 52-week provision, the nursery delivers Early Learning and Childcare to children from 3-5 years old. There is a requirement to be registered with SSSC or equivalent. Early Years Assistants are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting employment. They are also required to achieve an SCQF Level 2 Social Services for Children and Young People qualification within 3 years of being registered with the SSSC. This is funded by the early years' service. There will be an opportunity for those who wish to progress to SCQF Level 3 to receive funding for this. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
