We are looking for a Nursery Apprentice to assist other practitioners in helping to progress children’s physical, social, emotional, and developmental needs. This includes: Providing care such as washing, changing, and feeding, and helping at mealtimes. Ensuring that our nurseries are safe, warm environments for the children, their families, and our staff by following Health and Safety procedures and responding to accidents and emergencies. Working as a team to focus on activities that encourage play and sensory stimulation. Collaborating with families to increase their involvement in their child’s development. Attending training sessions and courses to achieve learning goals, and participating in regular staff meetings to share ideas. Patience and understanding to guide children from 3 months to school age on a daily basis. Caring and nurturing with a passion for childcare. Teamwork and the ability to work well under pressure and use initiative. Organizational skills. Responsibility to follow the policies and procedures of the setting. Health and Safety awareness, able to identify and address issues proactively. Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Ashbourne Day Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes: Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required) This will be delivered through Ashbourne Day Nurseries' dedicated training provider, Realise. Monday - Friday, shifts to be confirmed. 40 hours per week.
