Potterspury Pre-school is a charity and committee-run Pre-school in the heart of the village of Potterspury, Northamptonshire. We are committed to providing a nurturing, safe, and inspiring environment for young children to be inspired, learn and grow. Our mission is to offer exceptional early years education that supports both child development and well-being. We are now looking for a passionate, experienced, and driven Pre-school Practitioner to join the team.
Role Overview:
As a Pre-school Early Years Educator, you will play a crucial role in the development and well-being of children aged 2-5 years. You will be responsible for supporting their learning through engaging activities and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and enthusiastic individual to make a positive impact on children's early education.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality early years education in line with the EYFS framework.
Plan and implement stimulating learning activities that cater to the individual needs and interests of each child.
Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development, promoting positive behaviour and communication skills.
Observe and assess children's progress, keeping accurate records of their development.
Foster positive relationships with parents, providing feedback and support on children's progress and well-being.
Work as part of a team to ensure the Pre-school operates smoothly and effectively.
Help create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all children.
Contribute to the planning and development of the environment to enhance children's learning experiences.
Ensure adherence to safeguarding and health and safety policies.
Be a key worker, building strong relationships with a specific group of children and their families, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met, and supporting their development.
Requirements:
Level 2/3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (essential).
Experience working in a nursery or Pre-school setting is preferred but not essential.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
A passion for working with young children and supporting their learning and development.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with colleagues, parents, and children.
A positive and proactive approach to children’s learning and behaviour.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
A caring, compassionate, and patient nature.
