EYFS Teaching Assistant

for a Client Primary School located in

Ripon, North Yorkshire,

for an immediate start. About the School: In the school’s most recent Ofsted Inspection, the school was judged to be ‘Good’ with an ‘Outstanding’ Early Years provision. The school's aim is to give children and young people with needs related to social, emotional, and mental health an excellent education, encouraging possibilities for success, and enhanced life skills. Their person-centred and consistent approach to teaching early reading helps them acquire the critical abilities that are crucial from an early age. The school supports a large number of students with additional learning or neurodevelopmental challenges, such as ADHD and Autism. The school's curriculum is designed to be engaging, relevant, and stimulating, providing a solid foundation for future success. The school’s focus is on academic achievement, personal development, and community engagement which reflets their belief in empowering students to become confident, responsible, and compassionate individuals ready to make a positive impact in the world. EYFS Teaching Assistant Role and Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 or small group support to children within Early Years following the EYFS framework. Assist in the delivery of play-based learning activities. Assist in implementing learning activities according to child’s needs. Support the development of communication, social, and sensory skills. Establish rapport and trusting relationship and communicate effectively with children and their families and carers. EYFS Teaching Assistant Requirements: A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools/EYFS). Prior experience working within an Early Years or Nursery setting. Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and SEN strategies. Passionate about children’s learning and has knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn within the EYFS. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience or understanding of behaviours linked to additional needs. Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
