We are recruiting for a part time eating disorders dietician. This is an exciting opportunity to be a Specialist Service within HPFT, which aims to provide those with an eating disorder treatment and support in the community. This is a real opportunity to contribute to improving crisis support for those with an eating disorder.

In this role you will be responsible for assessing, collaboratively formulating meal plans with the service user/carers, and setting weekly nutritional goals. You will provide nutritional psycho-education and guidance to the rest of the team.

Main duties of the job

Assessment and collaborative formulation of meal plans for people under the Community Eating Disorder Service. Collaborative weekly goal setting with service users. Guidance to team members on supporting weekly nutritional goals. Nutritional psycho-education to team members. Contribution to delivery of the Service Specification. Contribution to service evaluation. Liaison with dietitians/health or social care colleagues around service users' nutrition.

Job responsibilities

The Dietitian will: Provide specialist assessment of nutrition for those under the care of the Community Eating Disorder Service. Provide dietetic input over a range of mediums and in different locations. In collaboration with service users and carers, the Dietitian will formulate a meal plan and set weekly goals related to improving nutrition with the aim of a 0.5kg weight restoration. Use high-level skills to identify and overcome barriers to nutritional change using interviewing, counselling, and motivational skills. This will require well-developed skills in negotiation, persuasion, tact, and diplomacy. Guide staff supporting the delivery of nutritional goals. Be responsible for the development and delivery of an evidence-based dietetic service to the Community Eating Disorder Service. Work collaboratively with any other health providers working with service users. Provide nutritional psycho-education to service users and carers under the care of the Community Eating Disorder Service. Work closely with the Community Eating Disorder Service nurse practitioner(s) and team leads to ensure any risks associated with nutritional changes are managed safely. Participate in Community Eating Disorder Service clinical meetings. Participate in other service user meetings as required/appropriate (ICS, VITS team meeting, ward meetings, CPAs, etc.) Contribute to the delivery of the Community Eating Disorder service specification including contributing to data collection and evaluation. Participate in clinical, managerial, and professional supervision. Maintain registration with required professional bodies.
