We are working with a leading Chemical Engineering firm to find a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will support the Engineering team by contributing to the development and upkeep of the site maintenance and asset management systems. You'll work across all aspects of engineering, from front-end design to system verification, validation, and ongoing maintenance. This hands-on role requires you to be Health and Safety focused and flexible, as you work on various projects at different stages of their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform reactive maintenance on production when failures occur. Carry out proactive, scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime. Support the development and maintenance of the asset management system, keeping tasks and reports up-to-date. Provide support to Maintenance Engineering and Production teams, gaining a broad understanding of site operations. Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with site standards, documentation, and data requirements. Report regularly to the Engineering Manager and escalate issues as needed. Work throughout the entire project lifecycle, from design and verification to ongoing maintenance. Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures.

What We Are Looking For: Experience:

Experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, or a single discipline within a chemical engineering or industrial environment. Qualifications:

City & Guilds or NVQ in Maintenance principles, or an equivalent qualification. C&G 17th or 18th Edition, C&G Electrical Installation, and other relevant certifications are highly desirable. ComPex Certification:

The ideal candidate will hold a ComPex qualification (CompEx Ex01-Ex04) for working in explosive atmospheres. Skills:

Computer literacy, excellent organisational and time management skills, and strong problem-solving abilities. Health & Safety Focused:

Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements, and UK legislation (CDM, HSWA).

Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally abroad. A flexible approach to working hours, including potential out-of-hours work. Knowledge of PLC fault finding, Hydraulic systems, IEC 61508, DSEAR, and lifting/slinging qualifications would be an advantage. Strong attention to detail and good communication and negotiation skills.
