PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Ecommerce and Marketplace Digital Content Specialist to be based in our Salford Quays offices in Manchester.

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the drive for sales growth and the evolving plan that is the Portwest eCommerce and Marketplace strategy which supports the Company annual and 5-year growth plans. Create, manage and implement high-quality, engaging content for product listings and storefronts that drive sales on both B2C and limited B2B platforms. Collaborate with Marketing, Graphics, and Product Management teams to produce content that attracts and converts into customer sales. Brainstorm new and innovative eCommerce and Marketplace tactics and strategies to deliver best in class outcomes. PERSON REQUIREMENTS:

Creative thinker with a knack for storytelling through product listings. Develop compelling product descriptions, titles, and bullet points tailored for B2C and select B2B platforms. Demonstrate commercial awareness and past commercial success to deliver sustainable sales growth. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail. Ability to multi-task, prioritise workload and meet deadlines. Fit in with an existing dynamic team culture and work well in a matrix management environment. Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing priorities. Proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently or in a team. Understanding of consumer behaviour online, digital platform management, brand management, new product launches and seasonal promotions. Desirable: multi-lingual in one or more of the following languages: French, German, Spanish, Italian.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE:

3 to 5 years’ experience in a content focused role within a DTC, B2C or B2B environment. Experience in an ecommerce focused business or agency. Relevant degree in Digital Marketing, Media Communications, Journalism, English Language, Business, Digital & Ecommerce, Creative Writing or similar relevant field.

ROLE FUNDAMENTALS:

Stay informed of platform updates, trends, and changes in algorithms to keep content strategies effective. Collaborate with Marketing and Graphics teams to align content with broader Marketing strategies. Coordinate with Graphic Designers to ensure visual elements complement textual content. Work with Product Managers to gain in-depth product knowledge for accurate content creation. Ensure content is optimized for SEO, adhering to best practices for keyword usage. Manage multiple listing projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality. Craft engaging, informative, and persuasive descriptions. Plan, execute, and analyse product and marketing campaigns. Understand what drives online purchasing decisions. Utilise analytics tools to monitor listing performance and adjust strategies accordingly. Review and edit content for accuracy, grammar, tone, and brand consistency. Basic understanding of graphic design principles or experience working with design software is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft, Google and Adobe suites, and content management tools. COMPANY AWARDS
