Economic Development Officer Role Profile Plymouth City Council leads place-based regeneration across the City and we are looking for someone to support: The Economic, Partnerships and Regeneration Manager/Team and the wider Economic Development Department in the successful delivery of the city’s new Economic Strategy 2024-34. Business and enterprise support networks and to provide a bridge between key business networks, most importantly our highly successful Business Improvement Districts, and services areas of the City Council. Support development of a place-based approach which maintains and builds relationships with existing and new businesses/partners to support productive, green, inclusive and regenerative growth; as well growing strategically important sectors and locations within Plymouth. This position has excellent prospects for career development for the right person. Training will be provided as appropriate. This role will suit a confident person who can work as part of a team and as an individual under their own initiative. Candidates must: Hold relevant degree or professional qualification, membership of relevant professional organisation or relevant experience. Demonstrate an ability to help prioritise issues, work collaboratively and deliver results. Be computer literate, with competent keyboard and MS Office skills. Have excellent communication skills. Work with a high degree of accuracy. The job will be based at Ballard House offices in Plymouth. In return, the successful candidate will receive: Competitive salary (Grade E). 26 days holiday (pro-rata), plus bank holidays. Local authority pension scheme. Other benefits.
