We are looking for a Data Analysis Manager to work on a varied and wide-ranging set of projects and activities. The role-holder will work closely with the SSPP Head of Strategic Projects, Director of Operations, functional and academic leads, bringing insights from data into our operations and change initiatives. We are looking for a creative individual with excellent organisational, stakeholder management and data transformation skills. As the post is new to the faculty, it would suit someone who has experience of using complex data to inform business success and would like to create that capability in a new area. The main purpose of the role will be to provide support across the breadth of the faculty’s activities in education, research, enterprise, impact and service, student and staff experience through sourcing, transforming, analysing and interpreting data, to progress service delivery, strategic projects, planning, evaluation and continuous improvement. This is a hybrid working role, where the role-holder will spend part of their working week on campus, and part of the week working remotely. It is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a permanent contract. About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Educated to degree level in a numerate discipline (or equivalent experience in numeracy-dependent work roles) Experience of extracting, manipulating, combining, transforming and analysing data from a range of sources Experience of interpreting data for a variety of audiences, including translation of complex technical data for non-specialist stakeholders Strength in data literacy and understanding of key data concepts, including data protection, data quality and the limitations of available data Excellent software skills – advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including use of macros and Visual Basic for Applications, and able to visualise data using business intelligence tools, e.g. PowerBI and Power Automate. Excellent interpersonal, teamworking and communication skills Ability to work independently and proactively while managing competing priorities with excellent attention to detail Strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion Experience of working with data in a higher education context, including advanced knowledge of SITS or of a comparable student records system Experience of project management and process improvement Data or business analytics qualification/ certification Further information
