A class of 30, or a class of 1?

As a teacher, dividing your time between 30 students can leave one young person falling behind. With Fresh Start, you can focus on the one who needs you most. As an Education Specialist, you’ll creatively re-engage a young person who’s out of mainstream school, tailoring 1:1 sessions to their unique needs and interests. Sessions take place in their home or an approved public setting, with the aim of rebuilding their confidence and love for learning. If you’re passionate about making a real difference for hard-to-reach young people, we want to hear from you. In order to be considered to work with this particular student, it is an occupational requirement to be a male tutor. These protected characteristics are essential and relate directly to the safeguarding of the young person and individuals working with them. Contract and Responsibilities:

This is a bank staff contract for short-term provisions (6-12 weeks) - flexible work around your schedule. You will be required to plan and deliver inspirational sessions to your student, empowering them and bringing them hope. Sessions will take place in the student's home or an alternative location, risk assessed and approved by Fresh Start. You will need:

A minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working with vulnerable children or young people. Experience supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs, including Autism, Global Developmental Delay, and challenging behaviour. To demonstrate an excellent and creative delivery of numeracy and literacy (as well as other subjects) across Primary levels. To be available for at least two consistent days each week. The benefits:

Additional £15 per session available to use for resources and activities. Subsidised travel and refreshments. Free wellbeing and counselling service. Length of service awards. The dedication and compassion of our staff continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve, helping to shape brighter futures for generations to come. But we can’t do it without you. To find out more about how you can make a difference in the lives of our students, call

020 3409 6410.

We would love to speak with you. Due to the nature of the work and our commitment to safeguarding our students, you will be required to undergo thorough background checks including ID, Right to Work, and employment checks, and will also require an enhanced DBS. FSIE - 015736
