The Air Ambulance Service provides two very important functions, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) which provides paediatric transfers across the UK. Our objective is to save lives, utilising specialist pilots, doctors, and paramedics and with our work centered on saving lives, improving clinical outcomes and being able to react quickly and efficiently to emergencies. We are at the forefront of innovative clinical care, and we challenge boundaries. Every day our charity is tasked with a unique set of missions which we respond to with our fantastic services, all of which are funded entirely by voluntary donations, trading and fundraising activities we undertake. This ethos remains at our core; we are here to work alongside and help the NHS without using their available funds. The impact we make with our services is to keep people alive, keep families together, to let children grow into adults and to enable the NHS to carry out more work than they would have been able to without our support. We also impact our communities by creating jobs, taking actions to improve the environment, bringing people together as volunteers and creating worthwhile training and experience opportunities. Our work is only made possible by the wonderful support and generosity of the public, together with the dedication, skill and enthusiasm of staff and volunteers in all areas of operation. This support enables us to invest into our operational services, into developing staff and volunteers and into our future financial stability to protect the services needed now and in the future. An exciting position has become available within The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) as the charity continues to grow and develop the life-changing service. The Children’s Air Ambulance is a pioneering service, changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – providing inter-hospital transfer services, enabling patients to receive specialist care via the clinically designed helicopters which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children. In 2023, TCAA transferred the highest number of patients in its ten years of service, and currently on track to exceed a new record for 2024! Would you like to join our team? Have the opportunity to work alongside specialist paediatric and neonatal clinicians, along with our dedicated Children’s Air Ambulance team to positively impact the lives of patients and their families. The Role The Education and Development Lead role is an exciting opportunity, supporting The Children’s Air Ambulance operational team. You will also be trained as a TCAA Crew Member as part of this unique role, covering shifts you will have the opportunity to be part of our life-changing transfers. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the role offers flexibility whilst also visiting TCAA Air Bases, Clinical Partner Teams, and stakeholders. The Education and Development Lead will support the training and development of bespoke TCAA training for operational staff along with the training provided to NHS teams, ensuring all the training materials are provided and maintained, meeting guidelines and regulatory requirements. Continually looking for areas to develop and improve to enable TCAA and CPT’s to provide outstanding patient care. In addition, the role will provide support by occasionally covering TCAA Crew Member shifts at our Oxford or Gamston base, enabling a true insight into our operation. If you believe you are a great fit for the role and our organisation, and you want to make a difference by supporting the lifesaving charity,
