Apleona UK is seeking an EHSS Advisor to join our Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) team to drive our commitment to environmental, health, safety & sustainability excellence. This pivotal role ensures compliance and promotes a culture of safety across our operations and our life science client operations in the Wirral.

As an EHSS Advisor, you will be working full time as a member of the Apleona site team reporting to the Apleona site EHSQ Manager, whilst receiving training to develop the skills and competencies necessary for a successful career in health, safety, and environment.

From the outset, as part of this role, you will be expected to embed both client and Apleona health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practice across the business through championing the quality of service delivery to the organisation’s customers, both internal and external, using both a strategic and practical approach. You will be required to ensure that appropriate safety, health, sustainable, and environmental systems are in place and being followed by management and staff within the organisation and verify that they remain effective and applicable to the requirements of the business.

You will assist in ensuring policies, procedures, and business activities are fully compliant with both legislation and company strategic aims. You will also assist in mitigating risk in all areas across the business and you will need to demonstrate that you have a strong understanding of health, safety, environment, and sustainability matters.

What do you need?

NEBOSH National General / Construction Certificate level 3 Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent

Waste Management experience

Environmental qualification such as IEMA (Institute of Env Management & Assessment)

Experience of working in a relevant business area environment

A clean and full driving license

A passion for health, safety, environment, and quality implementation

A passion for continual learning and professional development

A willingness to learn about new systems and practices

Experience of health, safety, environment, and quality in a relevant business area environment

Experience of working within a role where HSEQ risk mitigation was fundamental to the overall role while understanding the concept of delivering to an internal and external customer base

Knowledge of UK industry regulations and legislation/standards and maintain this knowledge

Experience in incident investigation and implementing appropriate remedial actions

Experience of risk assessments and audits

Ability to use computers to intermediate level for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
