If the answer is yes, please proceed on! The opportunity Our blue-chip Chemical client requires an Electrical and Instrument Technical Engineer. This is a specialist role to maintain and operate the high voltage equipment on the Runcorn Site in accordance with the HV Safety Rules and agreed maintenance principles defined in the reliability centred maintenance studies for Distribution and Rectifier Equipment. All planned maintenance and no call outs are involved. Facilitating Maintenance, Commissioning and Fault finding.
Details: Permanent Runcorn, Cheshire Salary - flexible 36 hours per week (8am - 3.40pm Monday to Friday) Your duties and responsibilities will be: Operate and maintain high voltage distribution assets in accordance with the High Voltage Safety Rules. Manage first line response to trips on the High Voltage Distribution Network. Manage interface with external specialist contractors to provide ancillary support, including liaison with contractors and management of their activities on site. Deliver maintenance requirements as defined in the detailed schedules of the 3rd Party Service Level Agreements. Provide technical and commissioning support to projects that need to make changes to the HV Distribution Network. You will have the following qualifications and experience: HNC Preferred or minimum 5 year's experience in electrical distribution related work. Time Served Technician with understanding of: Knowledge of the HV Safety rules. Awareness of the hazards and control measures associated with the HV System. Low Voltage Electrical Isolation. Permit to Work System. Knowledge and understanding of plant. Power Distribution Transformers and High-Power Rectifier Transformers including On/Off Load tap changers. Series Fault Limiting Reactors and Tuned Power Factor Correction Capacitors. MV Switchgear (fixed pattern and withdrawable; vacuum/SF6, oil, air). High Voltage cable systems and accessories. Experience of 33kv HV. DC Battery systems including a range of different high power DC charging units. Knowledge and understanding of cable systems. Knowledge and understanding of protection systems: Over current and Earth Fault protection relays, both traditional 'Induction Pattern' and modern 'Numeric' protection relays. Unit protection systems; Motor protection systems; Differential protection systems.
