$115,899 - $130,733 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Edinburgh - SA The Role The Electro-optic (EO) Systems Technologist Specialist will, under limited guidance, undertake scientific experimentation and engineering activities within the EO domain to support the analysis and assessment of complex EO systems and technologies.

They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to investigate system functionality, conduct experiments and measurement activities to build knowledge of electrical and software functions of existing or developmental sensing systems, ultimately supporting the integration of sensing systems into extant test and evaluation frameworks.

About our Team Sensors and Effectors leads innovation within Australian force operations by providing science and technology advice about equipment, personnel and processes. The Electro Optic Sensing and Electromagnetic Warfare (EOS&EW) Major Science and Technology Capability (MSTC) within DST Group’s Sensors and Effectors Division (SED) drives the application of science and technology to solve problems and deliver solutions for the Australian Government and the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and improve their capabilities in EO sensing systems.

One of the key roles of the STC is to build operational working knowledge of advanced sensing systems, develop or support the development of such systems, and develop counter sensing applications, across the physical warfighting domains.

Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electronics fabrication or electronics fault finding and system repair, with an enquiring mind for in-depth investigation and analysis of sensing system designs, and a strong interest in supporting the Australian Defence Force.

Candidate will have experience in one or more of the following (or similar):

Assembling, installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic components and systems; Sourcing or fabricating replacement parts for electronic systems; and/or Producing electrical design diagrams and documentation.

Additional Experience: Assessment and development of missile system concepts; Missile sub-systems and technologies; Broad knowledge of missile systems, including missile system design considerations; Sensors; Signal processing; Guidance, navigation and control; Propulsion; Aerodynamics; and/or Missile system modelling, simulation, and analysis.
