Whitdale Primary School ELC is seeking to appoint a full-time nurturing and motivated practitioner on a fixed-term basis until August 2025. Successful candidates must be able to work flexibly across the opening hours between 7.45am and 6.15pm. The successful candidate will bring a sound knowledge of early level play and development as well as a commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences and interactions whilst effectively working as part of our nursery team to plan, evaluate, and report on children's progress. They will work in partnership with our parents and partners to ensure we are getting it right for all of our learners. Essential Qualifications You must hold one of the following to apply: Scottish Nursery Nurse Examination Board Certificate (SNNEB) National Nursery Examination Board Certificate (NNEB) Higher National Certificate (HNC) - Early Years Education and Childcare (SCQF Level 7) Higher National Diploma (HND) - Early Years Education and Childcare (SCQF Level 9) Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 - Early Years Care and Education (SCQF Level 7) Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 - Child Care and Education (SCQF Level 7) Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 - Children's Care, Learning and Development (SCQF Level 7) Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 - Social Services (Children and Young People) (SCQF Level 7) This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulates you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC, you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
